Daniel Grieve (PGA Qualified AA Professional)
Dan turned professional in 2001 and gained his full PGA qualification in 2004, where he won a Titleist scholarship for achieving 4th place in the prestigious PGA Trainee of the Year Award. Dan achieved considerable success in his PGA coaching exams and as a result spent a week alongside Tiger Woods’ former coach, Butch Harmon, coaching the UK’s best junior golfers at the 2004 Red Bull Masterclass.
Dan is a talented player, known for his ability to shape the golf ball and a fantastic short game. He has achieved success as a player in several PGA tournaments.
Dan enjoys coaching and since joining the Woburn professional team in 2006 has developed an excellent reputation for improving players of all abilities from the beginner to the scratch golfer.
Jon Davies (PGA Qualified AA Professional)
Jon turned professional in 1989 and has been at Woburn since 1992. Jon is a 3rd generation golf professional and has gained a huge in depth knowledge of the golf swing working with two of the finest golf coaches in Luther Blacklock and Alex Hay here at Woburn and built a reputation as a golf coach in his own right. Jon has regularly contributed articles to The Times Online and is coach to some of the best junior golfers in the country. Jon has also been instrumental in creating a thriving junior section with many junior members achieving low single figure handicaps.
As a junior, Jon represented Wales and is renowned within the golf club for his exquisite putting touch and enjoys passing this knowledge on.
Luther Blacklock (PGA Master Professional)
Luther has been Head Professional at Woburn since 1984. Ranked a Top 25 Teacher in Great Britain by Golf Monthly magazine, he's renowned for his magazine articles and golfing tips on SKY TV and the Golf Channel. Luther’s style of coaching has developed over the years that majors on the highest level of pre-shot routine, with emphasis on shot making and ball control; a fusion of classic fundamentals and contemporary psychology.
Luther has taught several PGA European Tour players and his recent work on the ‘Lost Fundamentals of Hogan’ has been received very well by the golfing world. Luther was awarded the PGA Master Status in 2007, something only 22 other professionals in the country have achieved.
Patrick Flynn
After turning professional in 1996 and spending the last 10 years at Woburn, Patrick has developed a clear, confident and friendly style of coaching.
His coaching ethos is based on sound set-up and pre-shot routine. Once the swing is improved Patrick will assist you in the aquisition of shot-making skills. So few golfers posses the ability to hit the ball high and low or bend the ball at will. He believes that gaining control of the golf ball is one of the largest factors in enjoying your golf.
Although Patrick is excellent a producing a quick fix he prefers to set a specific goal and then produce a tailor made program to achieve it.
